OLD METHODS VS. NEW METHODS

FOLLICULAR UNIT TRANSPLANTATION (FUT)

Follicular Unit Transplantation, or FUT, is an older method of hair transplant surgery commonly known as "strip" surgery. During this procedure, a surgeon removes a large portion of the patient's scalp from the back of their head. The resulting wound is then closed using stitches or staples. The removed strip of scalp is handed over to technicians who carefully dissect each individual follicular unit. These units are subsequently transplanted back into the patient's scalp. The recovery period for this surgery usually spans a few weeks, during which patients may experience numbness, scalp tightness, and persistent pain. Moreover, there is a risk of developing a noticeable linear scar on the head.

ARTAS HAIR RESTORATION

The ARTAS Robotic Procedure restores hair by moving permanent hair from the back or side of the head to areas where hair is thinning. The physician utilizes the ARTAS Robotic System to digitally analyze the scalp and identify natural groupings of hair. The selected hair is then precisely extracted with the help of the ARTAS Robotic System's image-guided robotics. The majority of the remaining hair is left untouched to maintain a natural appearance in the area. Afterwards, the physician implants the extracted hair into the thinning areas. The transplanted hair will then grow naturally in its new location, just as it did before.
